Dance Theatre Fairbanks has been teaching Alaskans how to dance for over a decade – providing the very best in Dance Education, Performance Opportunities, and Healthy Lifestyles.
From our new Firehouse Studios we are changing the face of dance education in the Golden Heart City. Doing our part to revitalize our neighborhood and provide quality dance training everyday.
A 501(c)(3) nonprofit school of dance, we have:
A Beautiful facility in downtown Fairbanks
Talented, professional staff of directors and instructors
We began when Mrs. Pat Sims started the then Northland Dance in a small space in the Co-op Building downtown. We evolved into DTF through the efforts of Mrs. Sims, dedicated instructors and volunteers. The studio continued to grow under the executive directorship's of Mrs. Sheri Merdes and Mrs. Gay-Ellen Heath-Griffin. Currently our studio is in the hands of Executive Director Mrs. Dianne Christiansen.
The Firehouse Studios has six dance studios and a performance space in the big garage where fire engines once lived. DTF is thrilled to be a part of Fairbanks’ arts community and attempts torevitalize Historical Downtown Fairbanks. We are especially thankful for the help of all of our community partners. Through a unique and mutually beneficial partnership with the Fairbanks Community Foodbank – the owners of the old fire station – DTF will continue to change the face of dance education in Fairbanks for many years to come.
