Time to do your Christmas shopping?

Once again, DTF has the privilege to entertain you at Barnes & Noble and raise some money for our studio at the same time.   We will be at Barnes & Noble on Friday, November 28; our dancers will be there giving you a preview of our winter show and performing some new pieces as well.  Mention the Book Fair when you check out and the store will give DTF a portion of your purchase, at no cost to you.  If you’d like to support us online, shop between November 28 and December 3 and use Code 11270006.  Thank you!

Time to stock up at Barnes & Noble

Are you a homeschooling family buying last-minute supplies?   Need some new books?  Shopping for gifts?  Coming for lunch or dessert?Visit Barnes & Noble on March 30, mention ‘bookfair’ when you check out, and DTF will receive a portion of the proceeds from your purchase.  Look for our table when you walk in, and watch our dancers perform throughout the day from 12 to 5.  If you can’t make it on Sunday, visit www.BN.com/bookfairs anytime from March 30 to April 4 to purchase online and support us there.  Thank you!

Mush for Kids!

On Saturday, April 5 Dance Theatre Fairbanks will be at Mush for Kids.  This free event will take place at Pioneer Park from 10 to 2 and feature dog mushing rides for kids, hands-on activities, and live entertainment all day.  DTF dancers will be performing at 11 am and they will be leading warm-ups for kids (and adults!) to try all day.  Join us!

Double Your Dividend! (And do something nice for us, too.)

It’s not too late to donate to Dance Theatre Fairbanks!  When you choose to Pick.Click.Give a portion of your PFD this year, you will automatically be entered in a drawing to double your dividend.  Ten lucky recipients will be drawn in October to receive an extra dividend–just be sure to choose to release your information when you apply (if you donate anonymously they won’t know who to give the money to!)

Even if you’ve already applied for your PFD,  (if you haven’t yet the deadline to apply is March 31st!) you can still choose to donate a portion of your Dividend to the studio.  We can always use help paying for electricity and heat in this wonderfully big building, so when you donate you are helping us pay our bills and provide a great place for students of all ages to learn the skills of dance, performance, self-discipline, and fun!  Donations also provide funds to bring guest instructors up from Outside, put on shows-in-a-day, and perform at multiple venues in the community.

If you have already applied for your PFD, go to www.pfd.alaska.gov and click on “Add or Change Your Pick.Click.Give Donation.”  If you still need to apply, you can choose to donate at the end of the application process.  Thank you!

Attention Dance Parents!
Join DTF for Theater 101

Have you ever wondered what happens backstage?  Where the costumes are stored?  What’s down those stairs in the front lobby?  How your child gets from the dressing room to backstage during a show?  We invite you to our new ‘Theater 101’ class, just for dance parents and helpers.  We will give you a tour of the building, teach you what happens ‘behind the scenes’ during shows, and let you know how you can be a part of the action.  Our next classes will be on Saturday, March 8th and Saturday, April 12th.   They will be held at the studio at 10:15 am and noon, so pick which one works for your schedule.  Classes will be 30 minutes long.  No pre-registration is necessary.
