Senior Performing Company
Placement is by invitation only. It is not an automatic step for any dancer. It is not a developmental level attained by age or ability. It is a personal commitment to strive for excellence as a group of individuals. By their commitment, they are dedicated to representing their instructor, studio and school in the most positive light possible. Company dancers are specifically obligated to follow rules, attend rehearsals and adhere to restrictions that the Senior Division dancers are not. Company dancers are held at the highest level of expectation because the success of the studio rests in their ability to showcase the best Dance Theatre Fairbanks has to offer. More than just the commitment of the dancer is required to be in Senior Company. Until the dancer is independently able to fulfill the obligations required of a company dancer, the parent is an equal partner to the commitment that being a Senior Company Dancer entails. If the parent is not ready or willing to commit, then they need to communicate this to their child. If the child was invited into company, it was believed that they were mature enough to join and if parents say no this year, it does not mean they might not be invited again in the future.
